Creative End-of-Year Teacher Gifts

This gift is great as it not only looks great but doesn’t require any baking on your part or making mess in your kitchen! You can add any recipe you want in the jar such as chocolate chip pancakes, bran muffins or brownies. Your little one will love helping you measure and layer!

Cookie recipe in a jar

What you will need:

  • Large Glass Jar that can seal properly (e.g. Consol Jar)
  • Recipe Ingredients
  • Measuring Cups
  • Ribbon
  • Cardboard


  • Decide on a recipe and measure out the dry ingredients
  • Layer all the dry ingredients in the jar.
  • Write the recipe on a small card or cut up cardboard. On the other side write a sweet message for the teacher
  • Tie the recipe card to the jar using ribbon.



This is simple yet very effective gift. Teachers will love it as they can keep it at home or in their classrooms and it will last longer than chocolates!  Succulents are fantastic as they are hardy plants and don’t need a lot of water. Get your child to help you plant the succulent.

Tea Cup Succulent

What you will need:

  • Pretty teacup or cute mug (Does not have to be expensive)
  • few small pebbles or rocks,
  • potting soil
  • Succulent


  • Place a few of the pebbles in the bottom of the tea cup.  This is important so that there is a bit of drainage since there is no hole in the bottom of the cup.
  • Then just fill with potting soil and add your succulent.



A sweet package with some ‘get-me-through-the-day ‘essentials. This is a thoughtful gift that any teacher would appreciate. You can personalise the box by using the teacher’s favourite colour or by adding in some of her favourite items. Have fun and be creative!

Teacher Survival Kit

What you will need:

  • Gift box/ gift bag/ basket/ any other suitable container
  • Coffee/cappuccino sachet (or tea bags)
  • Stationery like: cute pens or whiteboard markers or sticky notes
  • Something sweet: slab of chocolate, bag of sweets
  • Other ideas: hand sanitizer, stress ball, handmade book mark, hand cream


  • Place all the items in your container.
  • Make a label, “Teacher Survival Kit”
  • Decorate the box with paper or ribbon



Easy to make personalised gift that looks incredible, it will make any teacher feel special. It is a fun craft that your child can help you with.

Chalkboard Potplant or Mug

What you will need:

  • Clay pot
  • paintbrush
  • chalkboard paint (can be found in any paint store and most art and craft stores)
  • chalk
  • newspaper (for the mess)
  • card or cardboard
  • optional: plant for the pot or seeds


  • Cover your work area with newspaper
  • use the paintbrush to slather chalkboard paint on the pot and allow it to dry completely, preferably over night
  • Finish it off by writing the teacher’s name in chalk on the pot and have your child draw a cute picture or write a sweet message
  • And attach the chalk or box of chalk to the gift so the teacher can later write what plant they are growing on the pot for years to come.
  • You can attach a note that says something cute like “Thank you for helping plant the seeds of knowledge.” Or “Teachers plant seeds of knowledge that grow forever.”
